This penny is a 1990 and is very lightweight. Ive never seen anything like it. I know this forum is full of experts and I'm just looking for a little insight. Thank you

*** Edited by Staff to Add Year / Mintmark / Denomination to Title. It's very important to have in the title. ***

Classify it as zinc rot.Might have had some help from some kind of acid as well.PMD not an error or variety.

to the CCF

That is a copper plated zinc cent that the copper layered has corroded and the underlying zinc is exposed and beginning to corrode away as well.

It's considered a damaged coin and does not have any numismatic appeal or value. Spend it before it rots away!
