Double-Dated-2023-Coins:-Will-These-Be-In-Circulation?

Picked up a 2023 gift set from the local post office today because I heard they still has QEII's effigy but with the double dates of her reign. Sure enough. Here's a pic. Do you think these coins will go into circulation, considering there have never been circulation coins with the effigy of a monarch in a year in which they didn't reign, as far as I know? And if not, could the coins in these sets have added value?

I find it very odd that they are minting coins in 2023 with the Queen's effigy. Same thing with 2023 silver bullion coins. Makes it seem like the mint wasn't prepared for the Queen's death. Or they are finding ways to mint more souvenir coins.

I would assume the latter.

Unless someone breaks open one of these sets and spends it at the local Dep or Tim's, you won't see them.

According to the set's description from the Mint:
"As we focus our attention on commemorating the reign of Queen Elizabeth II (1952-2022), the Mint will not be issuing any 2023-dated Canadian circulation coins featuring both the traditional reverse designs and an obverse featuring Queen Elizabeth II. Instead, we are offering a collector's edition of these annual issues that have been struck in limited numbers. These are non-circulation coins, meaning they are legal tender but not intended for general circulation. "
