To be short: I just receive this quarter which it is an FS-501 (will be another topic for learning and see as it is). I look in the last time for double varieties on already know one been.

This quarter in the year the 5 and 2 give me a trigger for micro. (I look first with my 20x normal magnifier). So what I see is in the following 3 photos an swear nothing more on all letters, head or digits, the rest is absolute normal as all the coin it is. I choice the photos on the best angle to see you and perhaps you tell me what it is.

What it is your call on this?

Full pics of both sides of the coin to start, please, and then wider closeups. These are too specific.

@Coin the full pics will be other post because this it is my first late Die coin with no polishing sign. This you see only in angle at more then 15 deg.
@Make: very interesting. Could be real but it is not the MM. I think Mike wrote about and when I reed first time I was astonish about the logic, accuracy and visions of the effects of the strike.

PS: For me any coin for varieties (local) I do not care about full pic of the coin. An DDO or DDR are local parts to analyze not the rest, except it is ask for markers.

He says, "most often". I have seen isolated MD on multiple coins, of different denominations. I am taking your word, that this is the only place you see it, is in these areas. By definition, that would be "isolated MD:.

Sorry folks, I come back because MAKE come with something very fascinating. All the merits to him.

I simulate a strike of a coin and rebound of coin and Dies. The probability to happened this effect is something 1 in mill strike. In this case we can not say MD and probably MikeD - MakeCents variety because happened during the strike.
