Hello again. Newbie here. Have this 2006 D dime. The obverse has a flattening that starts in the LIBERTY B and goes off of the edge while also continuing upwards and around appearing to affect the top of the President's head and stopping. Nowhere along the edge or on the reverse is there any signs of damage. Is it possible for after mint damage like this to affect only the obverse image ? And if you believe this is mint caused, what is it called ? Thank you again.
Sorry that the coin enthusiasts here can't readily help you by not being able to see what's wrong with the coin you have in your hand a thousand miles away from us, but we are (mostly) still human.
If you want an answer right now, I think the dime was either run over by something very heavy or it was put in a vice. You're welcome!
Hey atticguy. I'm sorry about getting you all fired up. I said I quit because I was having a hard time getting my images loaded onto the site. Had absolutely nothing to do with you or anyone else out there. I appreciated all of the responses and info that I received. You misunderstood my comment. I apologize
I also have a heck of a time trying to get my pics acceptable to post here. It seems like when I finally get my pics small enough to post they get lost. I 'quit' lots of my posts too because of that.
