Doug was a long time dealer in early copper whose collection was mindblowing. he was one of my best teachers when it came to numismatics. I learned a ton from him. ill miss you buddy. I also like that liberty had "mumps". the nicknames of old large cent varieties always crack me up. while its fairly common at R-2 the S-249 is the only sheldon variety for the 100/000 RedBook variety so it always gets a bit of extra demand. i have this one a EAC vf30. I think it would slab at 40. my grade puts it just outside the noyes condition census. probably among the 25 finest or so. Report this Post to the Staff
