So I came across this thing and I noticed it was damaged and probably not worth nothing but is this is still penny I've never seen one like this?

The elements have gotten the best of this cent. There's no coming back from this. The good news is there are plenty steel cent out there. look for one with a matte shine which should be a non-replatted one. Many, many of these have been replatted which destroys there value. Good luck!

Well it looks like a very rotten clipped Wheat cent. You are right, that date is unreadable in the images you provided. Now just a Cull coin.

sweet find.

steel cents are magnetic, so it pretty easy to check if thats what you have no matter what they look like.

Try a magnet on it to confirm 1943. Otherwise no way to tell based on these photos.
