Hi Everyone,

New to the Coin World. And so many questions. But the first would be about this 2019. In plain sight the coin is in good shape, no dings or scratches, but under the scope this one spot seems to have scratching through it... any ideas on how it could happen in just a particular spot? No damage on the front / obverse at all.

That area is a known weak area on the cent because of the bottom of the bust on the obverse uses more metal. Hope that makes sense.

What John1 said, but also 'rolling lines are noted on this coin, they are stronger where the weak strike is due to lighter pressure caused by the obverse design.
