Interesting, and thanks for your observation.
Planning on taking the coin with me to the L.Beach coin show for a free assessment in February.

I agree it appears to be legitimate for the reasons Stoneman mentions.
There is also a "dimple" in the metal towards the tip of the crescent in the first added image that wouldn't be there on a "grinder" coin.

IMH, the dimple could be a product of pressure from the dies.
Words of encouragement are one of the major food groups.
We need to consume them regularly to thrive and grow.

I was told that at this stage, the coin is called a fragment.
