Pulled this from a old bank roll few years ago. Thought it was pretty nice condition so I kept it. Didn't think to much of it till I saw some ms graded ones selling for nice prices. Got to wondering what mine might grade at, and is it nice enough to send it in for grading?

Steps look kinda soft in thus pic, it does them no justice. In hand they look better with one or two small nicks possibly. Steps still look pretty nice for P mint, would it be good enough to get 5fs or no? To me the only major factor for grading is fs or not. Without fs I don't see it meriting the costs vs value after.

Very nice looking but I'm not sure if those are clash marks or coin or was subject to mishandling scratches . I personally would not send it in for grading . Not full steps . MS-63 .

There is a couple small nicks, all the scratching on it looks to me as die scratches. All are raised and not dug into the surface. As for his neck I have no idea what happened there, I assumed he just wanted to rock a neck beard.

Nice coin but I agree with T-Bop--don't send in for grading.

The nicks on the lower steps keep it from FS - not worthy of grading fees but a nice roll find.

the hairlines are die polishing lines. full steps cannot have any marks impinging on the steps. the coin has many. I agree with MS63

the coin would have to grade MS67 to be worthy of spending the $$
most agree that it is not worth it if the coin is not at least $100. I'm in the box of a minimum of $150 and only if you are looking to sell the coin.

for future reference most seasoned collectors dont even slab their coins due to the cost. you could expect to spend about $22 plus shipping/insurance per coin each way plus a subscription to a grading service. PCGS charges a minimum of $69 for their lowest subscription. so you can see it really is not worth grading any average coin. you would chew up the value of a coin real fast
