Looks like it may have a deep casting seam over the Liberty or someone else was testing this coin to determine authenticity

This coin is struck not cast, so it can't have a casting seam. I'd characterize that linear defect on LIBERTY as a scratch.

Also the simple fact that this coin was minted in Denver, precludes it as being a 'proof' coin. Denver never minted any proof coins at all. Initially Philadelphia produced them, now it is San Francisco and West point.

As for any errors on this coin - I see none (unless you include the person that decided to polish it). There are lots of circulation flattening and the devices are rounded - most likely due to the polishing it suffered.

Got it! But I never thought it was a proof. that's obvious from the Denver mint mark- I said "proof like " shine. Which makes perfect sense if thats from polishing! Thanks!!! :-)

Ah, ok I see what you are saying there. I must have misread the first entry, and followed all the other sheep into the pen.
