Recent pick up in same auction as my 1878 half proof, previously posted. Putting several sets of images up for review, under varying light conditions. Thoughts on grade?

As it looks in hand.

Full light, multiple angles.

Full light multiple angles, with direct, high (maybe too high) intensity light.

Thanks for looking.

The stars are really weak for a proof coin. Is that normal in this series?

I think the rubbing in the fields will hold it to PR-61.

This is common to this year that I can see. A PCGS PF67 has 8 weakly struck stars, numbers 1 thru 7 and star 13. Another PF66 has the same weakly struck stars as mine.

With none graded DCAM by PCGS...using the 1st set of pics and comparing them to CAM examples I would think your's is every bit a 64CAM but not less then 63.
Very nice pick-up!

Proof 62. Rev looks untouched, so obv probably has cabinet wipe hairlines. Fully acceptable.

All pre-War proof coins are desirable, at least to me...very nice example.

Thanks for the feedback all, it is really appreciated! Question I have now; with a mintage of "1000", is that the beginnings of a die crack at 8:00 on the reverse? With such a low "official" mintage figure, it seems pretty early, for a LSD crack.

Could be a small scratch or possibly a strike through.
