I saw this coin on display at a museum I work at. It's part of a display for the Great Fire of Baltimore which happened in 1904. I am not 100% if it's a US coin as right next to it is an Austrian coin, which I think it's a 2 heller. It's around 19mm in diameter.

looks like a badly damaged Three Cent Nickel..

Thanks very much. I was thrown because I thought the date said 1905, but now knowing it's a 3 Cent nickel I think it makes more sense to be 1865. Damage I think is understandable for going through a major fire :)
