I found this 1918 Wheat penny in some change I had and would like to know if these are true errors or not. The following are what I noticed ....there is no L in the word Liberty, the 8 in the year 1918 is wider that the other numbers and at the top of each letter the phrase In God We Trust it looks like they were stamped over. There is no mint mark.

Could use a full coin photo front and back, but going with these pics if looks like the 8 was flattened by circulation and the L maybe a coin counting/wrapping/vending machine. These are just guessing though.

Full coin photos will help us, although what I see so far is circulation damage.

Agree with the full photo observation. At this point, appears to be a well-circulated coin--with hits/dings/rubs softened through much circulation wear (circulation flattening). What does the reverse look like?

no mint mark = struck in Philadelphia.
