HI all, quick question:

Did ALL versions of the 2016 US Silver Eagle have a lettered edge?

No.

Bullion versions for next year will retain the traditional reeded edges.

Nice quick answer to my quick question!

I asked because it seemed every single 2016 coin I was seeing was listed as having the lettered edge. NOW I know that those weren't the usual bullion coins, but the UNC coins sold by the Mint.

In 2016, proof and uncirculated versions will have a smooth edge bearing lettering incused with a designation that notes the 30th anniversary of the first issue of coins.
... NOT bullion.

I still have to remind myself that there are TWO versions of non-proof Eagles...

If you mean Bullion and Burnished, then yes.

Terminology is always confusing when it comes to ASEs, but annual releases usually come down to these:

o Bullion
o Proof (with many possible variants and Mint Marks... proof, reverse proof, enhanced reverse proof, etc., privy marks, etc.)
o Burnished

Also, something to note is that Bullion will not have any mint marks and Burnished will (now-a-days a 'W' MM).
