For sure this coin has seen heavy circulation and that could be just a scratch separating part of the eagle's wing from the remainder, but it is promising enough that I think a close-up image would be helpful too. Thx.

Very old Die. The coin was hit there during the circulation, if not on that place we will see a small tinny die Crack part of the design.

What I can not understand it is why peoples look for Die Cracks or Die Chips? Are not errors or varieties so no value for the coin but valuable lost of time.
