2004 D Iowa - Repunched Mintmark? - Coin Community Forum

SDM1969 New Member United States 5 Posts	Posted 01/27/2023 7:33 pm I'm wondering if this 2004 D Iowa State Quarter has a repunched mint mark? I'm new to all of this coin stuff and ask because all other rpm's I've seen are one on top of another whereas this one appears to be side by side. Looks like there once was a D left and now there's a P to the right. If it is an RPM, do you think it would be worth much above the .25 cent value? I can take other pics if you need. In 2004 there were no RPMs created because the mint had stopped manually adding the MM by hand in the 90's. Also if you think the there is a 'D' on this 'P' minted coin, we would call it an OMM or Over Mint mark - that too stopped. As its stands, that feature to the west of the mint mark could have been formed from a circulation hit which moved metal. Suggest not posting photos taken of a screen. Thanks.
