Hi all,

If I'm correct I have a 1 Falus from Malwa with a Chanderi mint mark GG M87B. Is that correct? What I'm having trouble with is locating a date. Also the obverse is slightly different to the one pictured in GG. Is that normal? All help appreciated.

Thanks

Date is in the bottom left of your second picture. I can't make it out. Maybe AH904?

Thanks BD51. Even zoomed I can't make it out. Is it Devanagari Hindi given that 0 is 0 and not a dot?. Maybe a CCer will be better at deciphering the date. Ta

Yes I can confirm bd251's identification that it's 904. They wrote the 4 in an unusual way. Here's another example dated 904 using the same unusual 4.

Another way to confirm this is that G&G says these coins were made from AH 901-906, and the last digit doesn't look like a 1, 2, 3, 5, or 6, so by the process of elimination must be a 4.

@Seeker55 - Many thanks. Although when it comes to elimination, it doesn't look like 4 either so without the extra knowledge, it could be any number from 1-6 written in a weird way.
