Hello. Got this medal at spot today. It is .900 gold purity, weighs 10.5 grams, and 26mm in diameter.

Researching it, I only found a few pages on it in German. It commemorates the 100th anniversary of the German company Schering (in 1971).

Anybody know how rare this medal would be, how many were made, and where it was made exactly in Germany?

Thanks in advance.

@guat, looks like this was discussed some time ago over on a German coin forum (https://www.emuenzen.de/forum/threa...971.60513/). Here is what the OP of that said.

Quote:
Since there is little or even incorrect information about the medal on the net, I would like to present confirmed data here: 100 years of Schering - 100 years of progress Schering Aktiengesellschaft 1871-1971 diameter 26.08 mm weight 10.56 g 900 gold material confirmed by: Science & Technology - Information Center Corporate History & Archives Schering Archives / Schering History

Over the course of the discussion, it isn't stated how many were produced, but a later respondent mentioned that two of their relatives who worked there received them.
