What should I do with this coin? Worth the clean?

https://en.numista.com/catalogue/pieces2220.html This is the coin, I can't read the year because of oxidation? Can I clean it? Is it worth the trouble?

Marck, you will never get this coin back to it's original condition. However, you can restore much of it's former glory. Please see this thread Carrscoins posted about his 1803 US Large Cent restoration project.

cleaning won't increase the value. can't hurt the value though either (it's not worth much in good shape).

even if it was the key date 1887 a collector would want an example without the environmental damage (especially this much crud)

clean it if you want to, but you'd only be doing for yourself.

Thanks Hondo Boguss, that's some great thread! Will try to get some of that where I live

Wade, it does look as it is the one from 1887
