This one is not endlessly bad for a cast fake. Based on the coin wear I would suspect this one spent some decent amount of time in circulation. I don't have my fake half dollars organized by year, which I should, but this is at least the second one I have from this year.

So, you believe this was a contemporary counterfeit - made to be spent and actually circulated for awhile?

I can see how it would fool people at first glance.

Weight and diameter?

I didn't measure the diameter but did do the weight which is 9.55g. It fits correctly in a half 2x2 so pretty close diameter either way. When I first saw it I thought it would be lead but makes a a clink on the desktop not a thud so it's some kind of alloy.
