Your images seem to show a regular ear.
The outer edge of the ear is "rounder" (fatter?) on the normal cent like this.
Your "normal" image seems to show circulation flattening.
Here's a link to PCGS Coinfacts for comparison to the normal design.

Please, no screen shots as they are too pixelated to be of use. Use your memory card. I'm not seeing a doubled ear either.

The reason it looks different is from die polishing. The fields are reduced making all of the affected areas of these devices, looking thinner and shorter on all the other devices as well. The fields are the outside of the devices. When clash marks are removed, the fields are the affected areas. The raised devices on a coin will be affect last.

You may think, all these devices/design are mirrored? But that is the way there are to create raised devices on the coins struck with that die.(negatives)

Welcome to the world of the die.
Hubs that create the dies look like the coins (Positives)

This hub is showing the Lugs that makes the dies held in the same spot on each hub process.

CoopHome: What is the difference between a die and a hub? hubs are used to create dies, dies are the results of the hub process. dies when finished are used to strike coins.
