why did the mint change the design on the obverse of Henry Harrison 1$ coin? Insted of usual number of the president they put in god we trust which might make it harder to follow the release of the new coins for some people.
Because the US mint had problems with the motto "IN GOD WE TRUST" on earlier dollars. They were ordered to remove it from the edge of the coin and place it on the obverse. Some people felt that the mint did this to remove God from our coinage.
