Hi, I've been told that this was a coin used in Northern Quebec in the 18th century. I cannot find much information based on this description so I wonder if the coin is from another place or time. Any information will be very appreciated. Thank you!

This has approximately a square shape (1"x1") and a weight of about .8oz
