Oh man! it would be just fine as a delails-cleaned coin in pretty good grade until someone tried to turn it into a scam. Not saying that was your seller, maybe he was duped as well, but just no need to do any of that. Lots of folks would be happy to own such a coin even in details grade, just not pay top dollar for it billed as original. Buffalo nickel and while pictures look great just one touch of the coin and you can feel it's been dipped. I go through
ebay listings and just see coin after coin mis-advertised with everyone selling a doubled die that isn't, a cleaned coin not labeled as such, or so many other things. The world is ripe for a new coin auction house with moderators.
