Heyo,
I am semi-convinced of this being an RPM with obvious notching on serifs,
upper & lower.
Opinions please. There are 60+ examples for RPM's on this coin at coppercoins.com
I've pictured with multiple light sources.

I agree, there appears to be notching.

Yes.... the first & especially the third pic (to my eyes) suggest your coin has the notching/separation to indicate an RPM. Out of 60 examples, I'm uncertain which attribution # but (as I have not looked yet), but possibly others will be along to give there opinion on which RPM it is.

I am currently checking for an appropiate attribution # as well. Many are listed with dual split serifs.

Also, your coin does not look to have an abundance of wear, definitely 2x2 worthy. Just curious, what does the reverse look like? If it were my coin, I'd definitely do some investigative work (as you are) & attempt to identify the attribution.

Reverse is pretty nice. It is clinging on to its last hope of being a Red-brown

I agree, looks like damage to the MM. the bottom left corner appears to have taken a hit, notice the up-welling of metal at the top. and a hit of the upper left as well.
I cannot find a match on VV:

The rpm 009 on the Var. Vista & Coppercoins is the closest I could find. Not a pure match though.
Damage is very likely. Thanks for your time gentleman.
