Would sure like to see a sharp, close-in pic of the feature in question. I'm confident it's not a mint mark, but I'm not convinced it's a plating bubble.

1984-Penny,-Possibly-A-Misplaced-Mint-Mark-With-An-Offset? I'm not very great at taking pictures with this phone and I can't seem to find the best lighting. It kind of looks like a squished D and a Bubble.
