How-To-Know-If-1990-Cent-Is-A-San-Francisco-No-Mint-Mark?

Coin is well struck and has been in circulation but does still have some gloss and shine. I'm just wondering if there's other ways to differentiate between Philadelphia and San Francisco no mint mark?

it would have to have characteristics of a proof coin, instead your example is a business strike

On a proof coin the rim would be very square and flat and the fields would be smooth and mirror like (even on an impaired proof), this one is a Philadelphia struck business coin.

About the only way any more are going to be found is in proof sets that haven't been checked. Really no point in looking for one in circulation.

In 1985 the U.S. Mint abandoned the practice of punching mint marks into working coin dies and instead, it began punching the mint mark directly onto the working hubs. However, the 1990 No S Proof Lincoln Cent was inadvertently struck by a mint state die that had been processed as a proof die. This occurred because the Mint had shipped a mint state die to the San Francisco Mint without the die containing the S mint mark. According to current estimations, there are only around 250 Lincoln Cents from this year that do not have their mintmark so its EXTREMELY unlikely but at least its not a
