Hi!
I just joined the forum, and I have already learned a lot by reading many different posts on various topics.
I posted something recently, with a couple of pictures of the latest coin I bought:
http://goccf.com/t/441556In my collection I have a few gold coins, I bought mostly as an investment (not that I don't like them!). But what I collect, as a hobby, are 50 cents silver coins from Argentina, minted in 1882 and 1883 (technically in 1881 too, but that's a rare piece). They're similar to the US half silver dollar regarding module, weight, and silver purity.

I know that it may sound silly to collect (stockpile?) many examples of the same coin. Even my girlfriend tells me collectors usually have different coins, not a bunch of coins of the same type. But I do really enjoy comparing them, and grading them (something I am still learning to do accurately). I find it easier to grade coins when you compare of the same type, each in different condition.

I will later post some pictures in a different subforum of some of my coins, including a patacon 1 peso silver coin (which has a beautiful lettered edge).

Cheers!
