https://www.royalmint.com/shop/limi...ng-scotsman/I found out about these by accident via the Royal Mail's website. As a railfan I'd like to pick up at least one version BUT I can't get their website to work at all. In fact, the Mail site didn't work either until this morning. I'd rather get one direct as once they hit the US market, they will be marked up by dealers if I can even find one!

Why not order one from The Royal Mint , then when they are back in stock they will send it out to you.

Uummmm... The whole point of my post is that the Mint's website is not allowing me to place an order... (see the link?)
Perhaps I wasn't clear.

UPDATE: if I log out of the Mint site, all of a sudden items can be placed into the shopping cart. But as soon as I log in, the cart stops working. I am starting to think US customers are either being blocked, or they are having issues with international orders. I just sent them an email, but I'm not hopeful...

Not sure if this will help, but I found with the Royal Mail site not to use Safari (I am on a Mac) - it won't allow you to buy - dumps the cart when trying to check out. So I use Google Chrome to order. May be the same for The Royal Mint? I have my order in to Royal Mail for the Flying Scotsman cover with the silver coin and it is in process now (ordered on the 28th of Feb). My experience has been if the order is in process, I will get it. On the Queen's In Memoriam cover with the silver coin, there were only 3 left and got one of them late one night. Early the next morning they were gone. The strange thing is I got the Flying Scotsman cover and silver coin for 82.5 pounds. It is not available to order at Royal Mail any longer, but I see the cover and silver coin available on The Royal Mint site for 85 pounds. Same thing, different price.... strange. Ken

mestephil - I usually use Opera as a browser... but I've tried Firefox and Edge and still can't get the website's shopping cart to work. It seems like as soon as I log in, the entire "shopping" ability is blocked.

That is frustrating. It works for me now, but I think I am combining superstition when doing it. I have no clue how I got it working. For Royal Mail there is an enquiry link you can use to complain and perhaps get help: https://business.help.royalmail.com...mpsenquiriesAt this time Royal may is only offering the uncirculated coin cover. The silver is not there any longer. Additionally, I got notice this morning they will not ship mine until mid April due to shortage delays. Has to be the coin as they shipped the stamps of the issue.

I'd like to give you an update:
Since the Mint website seemed to stop working for me as soon as I logged into my account, I decided to try and trick the site by clicking CREATE AN ACCOUNT (I used a different email address) instead of logging into the one I already had set up. And THAT WORKED! I was able to place an order with no problems at all!
So it seems what was causing trouble was my previous account. I don't know WHY, but that's what it was!
Maybe this info will help others

I placed an order for a regular and colorized coin... WANTED a silver one but can't spend that money right now. Will share when they arrive.

That's a nice coin. I recently watched a doco on the British rail network that included a section on the Flying Scotsman. Talk about tweaking a steam loco for that extra bit of travel time! Awesome.

David Graham - the Scotsman arrived in Boston (MA) in 1969 for a trip around the USA. For some reason there's almost nothing showing up when I do online searches for info on the loco's landing, but I've read a little about it in books and magazines.

Royal Mail finally shipped my FDC cover with the silver coin yesterday, so I hope to see it in 2-3 weeks, USPS willing.
