I was hoping for help with this penny. Any opinions as to whether this is an error coin would be helpful. This penny weighs 2.74 grams. The errors are on the obverse and reverse. Take a look specifically at the bottom half of Lincoln, the hole right side of the obverse and the L in Liberty. Is the 1945 double die? Also on the reverse, the top; left the O in one and the top of the wheat. Also the M in America. Any feed back would be helpful.
Thank you,
Christina

I believe we're looking at a (very) badly damaged '45 wheat cent--much of the damage the result of exposure to a corrosive environment. In my opinion, all post-strike damage.

Cdlubac68,

Looks like a once buried coin,in acidic soil which accounts for the weight loss. Your coin is PMD not an error.

I agree - this is a damaged and corroded coin and not any kind of error. Value is one cent.
