Can any one help me to determine if this 1965 Canadian 5 cent is a large bead? It appears to me that it is next to the 1986 coin. Any other information would be appreciated.

Count the beads, 119 small beads or 138 large beads.

First you are comparing a1965 with a 1986 which had two different reverses. One has beads, the other has denticle.
Also it is the beads on the Obverse that you refer to, not on the Reverse.
To tell the difference, count the beads as referred to in my earlier post.

I received a few old coins from a relative. I am just learning about the hobby and appreciate any feedback. Does this photo help? Also, Is the jewel attached? I am having a hard time telling the difference to other photo references . Thank you
