I occasionally see the term "elf" describing a Barber coin on ebay. What does "elf" mean? I can't seem to find any answer on Google.

You're probably seeing ebay listings by E and L Freeman. They prefix the ebay listing with "elf" for searches I suppose.

I have seen that before. Likely a search term for the seller, nothing to do with the coin.
Suffering from bust half fever.

I agree with AES, its just E and L Freeman (elfreeman) listings you are seeing which all have elf in the title regardless of the coin type (not just barber) and has nothing to do with the actual coins. https://www.ebay.com/str/eandlfreeman

E and L Freeman looks to be the correct answer. I put "elf" into the ebay search under Coins and Paper Money category and the vast majority of results were E and L Freeman listings.

Thanks everyone!
