This explains why someone would make a counterfeit. It should weigh 3.11 grams, or close, to really fool somebody though.

There is one "struck on 2.84 gram" planchet that matches the weight, on Heritage https://coins.ha.com/itm/errors/198...bnail-071515
Nothing said about composition though, sold for $56.
