What leaves me to think this may be an error coin, is what spears to be small Cuds in several spots where the coin is damaged on the reverse. Any ideas?

Just a badly damaged quarter, looks intentional but it
doesn't really matter how it occurred.

Looks like it was done with a pedestal grinder, bench grinder, angle grinder, or die grinder (am I missing any?). But as stated, it does not really matter.

HEY! Where is that mean spirited individual that decided they had to deface an Arizona Quarter?

All intentional damage here.

Thanks guys for your input. I am still learning and I have a decent in with my bank they have no problem with me requesting boxes anytime of what ever I want. It was my first quarter box and I'm working on my second penny box now. Before I re roll them, I research each coin for variety errors by decade. I have box of quarters currently in gallon bags separated by decade also. I will continue to keep posting my coins of interest. I appreciate all of your help.

Damage is damage to the coin. Not a mint error. Face value now.
