Too pixilated to really tell. Do not use screen shots, we need clear photos to see the detail.

Not screenshots. Camera. You can't see the Y is smaller & thinner?

I honestly can't see how you can't see the difference with the Y.

We ask for no more screen shots and yet you give us more. They are too pixelated to be of use.

The Y is thinner due to die polishing - even the edge of the back Lincoln's neck almost gone too,
But please try yo not post up black and white extremely pixelated images, they really don't help and are a distraction. Taking a larger image and just zooming in the image to see the pixels is just not desirable.

Thanks, @Dearborn. @merclover, they are not screenshots. Camera zoomed in. It's really hard to get under 300KB without cropping, but then end up being blurry and pixelated.

I agree with Dearborn that the effect is due to over-polishing. The "Y" and back of Lincoln's shoulder are lacking clarity. It's difficult to see if die polishing lines are visible. Can you see many in hand?
The mint may have been trying to remove a clash since there were so many clashes in 1983.
EDIT: There do seem to be remnants of two clashes in bays 2&3.

Yep, Pete is right, I didn't notice the clash in the bays, but I was thinking a polishing job to erase one.

Thanks, everyone! I'll have to get it out again today to try and get more detailed pics.
