Here is a pretty worn 1921-P walker. I'm not very good when it comes to grading these. Any help would be great. Would it be worth getting certified?

Yep, a key date, and has enough details for me to give a VG-10 at best. This to me is getting valuable enough to want to get it graded in my opinion. PCGS coinfacts VG-10 retails at around $400.00ish.

Very nice coin and worth the grading. PCGS or NGC or ANACS, your choice. Looks like a keeper for sure.

Nice, VG8 to VG10 coin.
If you plan on keeping it certification is a good idea.
If your planning on selling it then no need to add more money into it as long as you are getting vg money for it. Nice coin to have around!
As always, others may have a different opinion.

So I'm confused by the not getting it graded if you plan on selling. because it adds money? I sell a lot on ebay and you don't make a huge profit but you definitely make a profit for getting a coin certified. For example the raw 1921-P ebay coins that look about the same grade are going for like $120. Where do you guys sell raw coins for graded prices?

Quote: Where do you guys sell raw coins for graded prices? You are not going to get "retail" graded money prices unless you are doing a transaction between yourself and a willing buyer that really wants the coin. Knowledgeable and honest dealers should pay you a % back of Greysheet "bid" and that % can be all over the map depending on his current inventory and needs. Most ebay buyers place a max bid they are willing to pay and if they get it fine, if they don't they'll just bid on the next one. It can cost you 10 to 50$ to get your coin graded and put in a slab. That is money you most likely will not recover as the coin is what it is (VG) whether it's in a slab or not. That's my Two Cents!

I'm sure this is a dumb noob question but where do these dealers exist? I sell some on coin groups from Facebook. But running an auction there is risky from my experience. They don't bid high or at all. Bin post are ignored unless the deal is super sweet. Maybe it's my lack of connections. I've been actively learning about all these coins I've inherited and also selling to make a little cash. I would not be able To sleep if I Just sold everything without studying each coin. I did that with the first $20 st. Gaudens he gifted me back in the early 90s I was a stupid 20yr old and pawned it for $400

I'd suggest you attend a couple of coin shows in or near your area. Establish a line of communication and ask questions with several dealers. If they don't want to assist you, are rude to you or you don't feel comfortable talking to them then move on till you find one YOU feel comfortable with. This is all a learning process. Good luck!

i think she makes VG10
the only reasons to slab the coin
1. authenticate a rarer coin 2. have it graded for sale
we know the coin is authentic so if your considering selling it then slab it to get the most $$ for it but I think anyone who collects these would know its grade. if it was mine it would go in my album if I collected them or in an air-tight holder if I didnt and save the cost of submitting it

Agree VG-10, choice for grade, worth slabbing but I wouldn't spend the money.
