Hi there. I've had this coin for awhile now and was hoping I could figure some out on my own. But..doubting myself. So any comments appreciated. (This is a beautiful looking coin outside of the pictures). 1st picture is natural light, 2nd is with flash and 3rd - comment on 3rd question below. My thoughts and questions; 1. Regarding die cracks and scratches. I understand that a crack is raised, but there are times when it is quite hard to tell if it's raised or sunken. Any help with properly distinguishing the two? 2. This coin, is that a strike thru grease or? 3. Could it be struck wrong? (I posted the additional pics as I was trying to bring out the underlying (possible wrong die)? I hope I used the correct words. Thanks in advance.

This picture is what started me looking closer as it appears a large crack all along the bottom. Most dark areas on the grease (?) show through more like cracks on different angles. Just thought I'd throw this one on the thread.

I am not seeing any thing struck through. I do see many contact marks. and the yellow haze, is just that. Happens from storage, they develop a haze, from white to yellow in colour, usually seen most often in pl sealed coins.

Agree not seeing anything out of the ordinary , you need to post all your pics the same size as #3 and #4

Perhaps the OP is questioning the two dashes above the glare nearer the bottom of the picture? I oriented the picture properly and tried to make it as clear as possible. Cheers, Bill

I see a fine crack(s) along lower portion of Caribou and looks like extra metal as Bill points out.......

Thank you silverwolf. I know coins are not to be cleaned yet I've also be advised there are some solvents that can be used for certain coins. Is there something safe to be able to clean the yellow?
mcshilling, sorry about the picture sizing. I'll watch for with future postings.
Thanks Hounddog Bill. I was actually asking about the bottom as nickels guy pointed out (thank you). But seeing what you've pointed out is appreciated also.
Can anyone help with properly distinguishing the crack vs scratch. I understand that a crack is raised, but there are times when it is quite hard to tell if it's raised or sunken.

What I'm seeing in that last pic is PMD, they all look like scratch's.
