Obviously this is way bad but before I assume it's totally trash, I wanted to ask if there was anything special about this thing. Would be my luck that I'd get rid of it and then find out that it was rare and valuable. Thank you for your time.

And I guess the only other question I have is , is the line that runs from the edge and right alongside the "I" in UNITED a die crack ? Or any other of the fracture looking lines for that matter. The one beside the I is raised and stops at the corner of the monument.

It looks like it is encased in a bezel.
No value over 1 cent.

Is the coin sitting on top of something? Weight?

A photo taken of the rim--dead-on--might tell us more.

That extended rim is interesting. We need better photos of that area - initial speculation same as JimmyD, this coin could have once been in a bezel. But why?

That picture is misleading. Coin sitting on a deep well socket. I'll change that

Ah ha - that explains it. Don't do that in the future.

I change my opinion to beat up junk coin. Spend it before it rots away.

are you sure it is a zinc cent? I'm only seeing copper showing - even in the gouged areas. Also this is a small date cent.
