Need Help With Mirrored Fields - Coin Community Forum

snowman Pillar of the Community United States 1840 Posts	Posted 03/12/2009 8:53 pm This coin has mirrored fields that are getting washed out when I take photos. Any thoughts on how to prevent this. SsuperDdave Moderator United States 23522 Posts	Posted 03/13/2009 4:18 pm I went out and bought a cheap circular fluorescent ceiling fixture, and cut a hole in the center through which the lens fit: Although it brings out details nicely, it doesn't do very well with luster: For Proofs, though, it's the bomb-diggety: Another possibility is axial lighting - check out this forum and Google for how to create an axial lighting setup. You can vary the angle of the glass, and get either the black/white look of my pic above, or a white field. Report this Post to the Staff
