I don't see this as a proof strike - also looks like it has been polished. Quote:

I apologize I'm having a hard time trying get a decent photo of the mirror shine. I assure you I did not polish it. Its been in circulation, I'm surprised its still in fairly good shape.

Agree with the above, Not a proof. Looks polished or plated.
I've been collecting for a couple years... Favorite Coin's are Standing Liberty quarters, Working on my type set | Coffee, Corvettes, Coins & the CCF what could be better? |

sorry 2foxy. no matter how you photograph this coin, its not a proof. its highly polished and a business strike. the coins value is 1 cent.
there are only two reasons to grade a coin otherwise you're wasting your $$
1. its a rarer coin that needs certified and protected
2. the value of the coin is more than $150 and you are planning on selling it.
neither applies here.

Not hard at all to get a cent polished like this. 2 minutes with a buffing wheel and buffing compound.

2foxy. one tell tale sign of polishing is the coin looks like all the devices are melted. take this coin a place it beside any LWC and you will see that |

Is there anywhere I can find close ups or detailed photos of a proof Wheat cent as a reference so that I know what characteristics/features to look for? |
