Seeking a grade and if I should send away for grade and to be slabbed. I previously posted in December 2022 to verify my finding of the variety. It had a 5 minute acetone bath. Thank you all for your expertise.

I can't tell if the greenish-blue color is the beginning of corrosion, but IMO.... needs more than 5 minutes in acetone. If it were my coin, I'd not have it graded based on ebay sold-values for MS65 & higher condition 95 DDO's. I'm not great at grading but yours appears low MS, just my opinion.

Some light corrosion, appears to have been circulated some.

Agree mid-AU, not worth grading.

Coin rejector, I agree with you due to ebay sold values as well and the acetone bath due to corrosion wanting to come through. I'll give it one more (longer) soak. Thank you.

BadThad, yes light corrosion and found coin roll hunting, definitely circulated. Thanks for the grade.

Coinfrog, I agree with you on not grading as well. I shall stick with my decision and keep it for my collection. Thanks for the grade.

I appreciate everyone's opinions.

Nice example for a 2x2 - but first you need to arrest the beginning of that corrosion before it eats the coin.

Nickelsearcher,

I had given a 5 minute acetone bath in December to prevent further corrosion. Any advice on a longer soak? I've never cleaned a CRH coin especially a DDO, only detecting coins. Thank you.

I suggest you email BadThad and ask about his Verdicare product. It's completely safe on copper coins and will stop that corrosion in its tracks.

AU-50 at best. Still a nice find. Not slab worthy.
