1968 S Penny/Cent Maybe A Proof? Satin Mirror Surface. Excellent Condition.

First, the pictures don't do it justice...the sheen is unlike any other penny I've ever seen in circulation. Second, it's an S mint mark. panzaldi Bedrock of the Community United States 18635 Posts	Posted 03/27/2023 09:23 am i agree with the others that its a business strike. when you look at your first photo of the obv, the rim would be much wider. it is in nice condition especially if you found this in circulation. back in 68 I pulled about 3 rolls out of circulation most look like this. I'm thinking someone tossed it in a jar and it never really saw much circulation. a little too much glare from the lighting to accurately determine if the coin is high AU or MS. MS coins can be found in circulation contrary to what some think. AU58 or MS63 maybe 64. the ticks on the shoulder are very typical and are die related. there may be small ticks along the edge of the lapel. they are also die related as well as any scuffing and small marks above ONE CENT its a piece that if you have an album I would put it in it, there were so many minted its really never going to have much premium so it could go into any holder to protect it from other marks if you want to keep it Report this Post to the Staff

Hopefully one that you know already and see what their answer is. I do that to confirm some of my coins as well. An in hands look is often times better than photos but, I still remain at Business Strike and a very nice one. It's definitely a hole filler - keeper!
