Hello , I cannot identify this coin, despite some searching. I'm assuming an indian state.

9.7g and 20mm in diameter . 3mm thick. Silver.

@lion, I'm wondering if you don't have a 19th Century Rupee from the Sultantate of Sindh here. Check out these numista and acsearch links for comparison coins. Hopefully one of our experts will check in to either correct me or confirm that I've got it right.

many thanks Spence, I can now see it has a British lion indicating the period but I Just can t find anything more specific. Likely a rupee but date, ruler is still unknown. I do hope their is a specliasit out there that can help further

A long shot but maybe look into rulers that refused put the British monarch effigy on their coins. I remember reading about one state that had some wording instead of the monarch's effigy. Sort of sticking half a finger at the British instead of a full finger. Maybe having a lion was a way of refusing to use the effigy but at the same time kind of acknowledging British rule.
