Weight is as expected @ 11.35 grams so am expecting this to be PMD.

In hand, I am thinking this looks to be intentional instead of environmental, but that's a guess.

If the former, any ideas what process could have been used?
...and no, it wasn't me who thumbed it all up, lol.

Well it could be some kind of plating, but would expect to see the regular silver coloring underneath <shrug>.

May have been plated, then exposed to a liquid-based crud for some time. Dried crud is wearing off, revealing the original plating. Looks like fun.
