really nice example. strike is always an issue with these. the overall sharpness of the lettering, stars, denticles, hairline at the forehead and leaves are all indicating an XF coin to me.
I'm going to go conservative at XF40

EF-40 with an older cleaning. Most likely will straight grade.

Thanks every body for your comments. My own thoughts were around VF30, but of course would be very happy if higher. By the way, this is the most common Flowing Hair variety for the year, the B-5, easily identified by a 'bar' behind the head caused by a scratch in the die.

nickelsearcher, thank you. Yes, it is. I bought it from a Bowers & Merena Auction back in the days when you had to fax in your bids and most pictures in the catalogues where black and white.
