Nice looking original surfaces example. I'm at F15 although that gash would likely Details the coin for damage.
Most collectors would be pleased to own this one.

It looks like a gash due to the shadow, but it is a small dent curved like the edge of another cent tagged it. If you want I can put it under the scope for you

Possibly low end VF Not long ago I had 9 of those little buggers. I gave a few of them away to fill wholes in a friends Whitman. I think I still have 4 or so. They came from my Mom's collection. Yours is purdy! Very strong VDB!

I'll say VF-30, agree the gash might detail it.

thanks all, I guess I'm a-bit conservative when it comes to grading.

i agree with coinfrog. VF30. probably details but not 100% certain as if it was PMD it would expect whatever did that would have hit the rim as well/ so its possible it was already an issue on the planchet FYI - only MS coins are assigned colors

VF-25, which seems about the average of the grades so far

looking at your closeup photo I think what might be a hit by the date looks more like a planchet problem. probably grades straight
too much detail especially reverse to call this one VF20 however its your coin and I can see you lean more to conservative grading. the difference in value is only a couple $$ from 20-30 so it doesn't really matter much
