I need some opinions on this coin. What would you grade it? Are the dirty areas in the low areas indicators that it was cleaned? Does the clear post mint damage to the O on the reverse make it "damaged"?

Sorry for the obvious questions, still pretty new to all this.

Ah shoot I forgot to put Wheat cent or Lincoln Cent in the title of the thread.

Edit: Figured out how to change the title!

Id gander an AU-50 to start. As to that PMD you mentioned, to me it is not to damaged to call it details to my eyes, but others might defer otherwise. You can also edit your own title; I do it all the time here.

Side note, you could check for the two known DDOs on these, greatly enhancing the appeal to collectors.

May have been cleaned long ago--unsure. That said, I could see AU55+ on this. The wheat stalks seem to show some wear--may be an issue with the photography.

Surfaces are way too dark in the photos to offer a good estimate on grade.

IMO the damage to the O does not detail the coin but interesting that the bright copper showing at both of the hits indicate the damage occurred recently and not when the coin was relatively young.

A recent prior owner of this coin did not take care to store/handle it properly.

i believe the coin has been lightly circulated. I'm wondering if the lighting is hiding and surface luster. the O nick probably will not detail the coin. technically i'd call it AU55 since the obverse strike is pretty strong I dont think the jacket is from strike but wear

the low res photos probably mean there are also hits we're not seeing, so I'll say AU 50
