This was in a lot of tokens and world coins that I recently purchased. Unfortunately, I can't find out much about it beyond generalities. Can someone direct me to the proper resources on encased German stamps?
Inordinately fascinated by bits of metal with strange markings and figures
There doesn't seem to be much useful about these online, but here is one site set up by a French collector (timbres-monnaie, "stamp-money", was in extensive use in France after World War 1): https://www.collectiondemonnaie.net...y/index.html
The text on the reverse says it was issued by the Bonn Light show company which was probably and entertainment company and the Germany stamp would date this piece from the early 1900's before WWI.
