So I think I have both...hard to tell. My thoughts is the one on the left is the Large date and the one on the right is the small. What do you think?

Ok...thanks...so is it the height of the 7's or the bend of the end of the 9...just not enough curl in the 9? I am trying to understand the difference...the one on the left looks thicker and the one on the right the 9 seems to curl at the opening of the 9. Just not enough of a curl?

For a quick visual reference, I usually just look at the 7.
If the top lines up below the 9 and 0, it is a Large Date.
If it is even with the 9 and 0, it is a Small Date.
