Hey all, your thoughts on this one? Counterfeit? If so, Contemporary or Modern? Pattern? They're listed to exist in bronzed copper or pewter and also other various metals.

The size and weight is accurate at 33mm by 2mm thick and 14.2 grams. It's not .925 silver. Not magnetic at all, not even a slight pull. The edge appears to of been sanded down.

The first 2 pics are the true color, the final 2 pics were taken at an angle under a bright light to better show every detail possible. Any value here or am I tossing it back in the box I found it in? Thanks.

Coin looks genuine to my eye.

The problem is that
a small suspension loop that was hard soldered on, has been removed, and
new edge millings filed (rather poorly) on the rim.

I think that some very numismatic significant value remains, and
I would be happy to buy it at a reduced price relative to the condition.

It will be a very long time (if ever), before another buying opportunity such as this happens again.

Nevertheless,
when it comes to buying, I am a 'belts and braces man'.
I always prefer to closely examine each and every coin in hand, that has significant numismatic value, before handing over a payment.
That has been my normal buying habit for almost all of my numismatic life.

@sel_69l

Thanks for the reply, I was wondering if maybe it had been soldered as well. I'll wait to see if anyone else has some opinions on it before I decide on a course of action.
